Anders Sandli
Project Architect

NCARB, AIA

How far would Anders Sandli go to ensure a client’s complete satisfaction? About 3,900 miles, for starters.

A native of Norway, Anders came to the U.S. to attend St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, in 1997. At the time, he hadn’t even contemplated a career in architecture. He graduated with dual degrees in Sociology and Environmental Studies with an eye toward becoming an Urban Planner.

However, while attending graduate school, Anders discovered that architecture presented a far more practical field in which to apply his skills. What’s more, he has found his sociology background indispensable in his new profession. He discovered that it helped him understand how clients think and run their operations.

Prior to beginning design, Anders even shadows various employees of his clients as they go about their daily work. He sees firsthand what works and what doesn’t, and notes how their workspace can be made more useful, efficient and even more pleasant.

It’s this meticulous attention to detail that allows Anders to create environments that are as functionally optimized as they are aesthetically inviting. It’s also an approach that Anders instills in his entire team. Of course, given Anders’ background, it’s no surprise to learn that he’s a guy who goes the extra mile.
