First look at Green Bay Botanical Garden’s Grand plan
GREEN BAY – There will be more reasons than ever to stop and smell the roses — and plenty of other flowers, at that.
Construction of the Green Bay Botanical Garden’s Grand Garden & Amphitheater is on track for grand opening celebrations in early September.
Last year, the botanical garden launched a $5.7 million fundraising campaign to pay for a new entrance and amphitheater. The project also includes a new concessions building, garden-overlooks and more pathways, as well as 12,000 newly planted perennials, a unique collection of magnolias and more trees and shrubs.
Susan Garot, executive director of the botanical garden, said: “For those who’ve maybe gotten married here or have been coming here for years and keep coming back, and for our donors, seeing all the beautiful changes is really continuing our story here at the garden and they (the people) are all a part of telling that story.”
