St. Paul's United Church of Christ
A Safe Sanctuary Church

A new 12,000-SF church with seating for 275 people and an educational facility, this suburban project replaced an older, urban campus. The sharp, angular design of the building's form derived its inspiration from the points of a compass, symbolizing the church's namesake, the Apostle Paul and his gospel ministry to the "four corners of the earth". 3D-computer modeling assisted the congregation in understanding the building's form and became a critical tool for successful fundraising. Design incorporates a "Memory Wall" utilizing various materials from the previous church such as stained glass. The Memory Wall is located between the narthex and worship space.
