Hartford Community Center

This new 56,200-SF community building includes a teen center, multi-purpose rooms, classrooms, crafts area, gymnasium, and aquatics center with an 85-foot slide and other play apparatus. The project originated from Somerville’s investigation to renovate and bring up to current code a 1920s schoolhouse. This approach was deemed cost-prohibitive and project switched to designing a new community center in the downtown area.
