In continuing our relationship with Riverview Hospital, Somerville is currently building a $17.4 million Inpatient Replacement Building. The building derives its form from the prototypical private patient room design which pushes the toilet rooms outboard in order to maximize access and observation views by the caregivers. This design incorporates the latest Planetree and Patient-Focused concepts of healthcare design, including family rooming-in capability, landscaped courtyards, decentralized nursing at bedside, fresh air balconies, aqua features, on floor education spaces, gas log fireplaces, and a satellite pharmacy.
