*Susie C. Altmayer Elementary School

As the chosen Architect to conduct the District's site study, Somerville also completed the design of the new school for 650 students with corroboration from existing elementary school staff and District Administration. What makes Altmayer school so special is the unique openness and colorful scheme that politely pave the way for young students and faculty. Thoughtful inclusions such as the second-story atrium and the 360 degree nature views lend themselves to the freedom to learn and the inspiration to create. The new school was designed with a roundabout entrance to facilitate student drop-off, and the building is cleverly positioned on the site to allow for future growth.
