Business Development

Architecture and Engineering firm seeks candidate for business development.

The positions responsibilities include: 

  • Candidate will work in close association with the marketing department, market sector leaders and management to develop the corporate marketing plan and business development strategies.
  • Identify and develop new business:
    • Qualify and pursue new business.
    • Identify decision-makers within prospective client organizations and establish meaningful contact through calls, emails, social networking, and meetings.
    • Coordinate meetings between clients and professional staff.
    • Participate in business/social/professional organizations and events, including tradeshows and conferences that promote or generate business relationships.
    • Meet with qualified prospects to present the Firm’s credentials and/or identify and discuss specific opportunities for future work.
    • Participate in the development of proposals and interviews.
  • Identify and pursue project leads through consistent and close communication with potential, past and current clients.
  • Proactively develop/maintain relationships and pursue opportunities for additional business with existing clients.
  • Networking with existing client contacts to expand the current client base through referrals, etc.
  • Promote the firm and brand.
  • Document/quantify results of business development activities:
    • Effectively organize and track leads.
    • Monitor business development efforts by the professional staff.
    • Participate in regular business development meetings and coordinate activity with business development and marketing.
    • Submit activity reports as required by the Executive Committee.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or required to meet company goals and objectives.

The following traits and/or skills are required:

  • Three or more years business development experience or equivalent experience in the architectural, engineering or construction industry.
  • Two or four year degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business or similar majors.  Degrees or related experience in the architecture, engineering or construction industry will be recognized.
  • Ability to develop new client relationships.
  • Ability to attend evening meetings and travel within the state of Wisconsin on a regular basis.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, persuasive, and communicative skills.
  • Familiarity with architectural/engineering services and the construction industry is beneficial.
  • Training & experience in writing and successfully implementing a business plan
  • Training & experience in market research and demographic analysis
  • Training & experience in strategic planning
  • Training & experience in public speaking
  • Excellent communication, writing and language skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, driven, engaging, energetic and extrovert personality

Electrical Engineer / Department Supervisor

Architecture and Engineering firm seeks a degreed P.E. with a minimum 20 years of
experience in design of power distribution, lighting and low voltage systems for educational, healthcare and/or commercial buildings. LEED accreditation and RCDD certification is desired.
Candidate must be able to:

  • act as the electrical engineer on various on-going projects
  • supervise and mentor the other engineers and drafters within the electrical department
  • manage the day-to-day workload of the electrical department
  • in collaboration with human resources, author job descriptions for department personnel
  • review and amend the electrical department master spec
  • quality control review responsibility for all electrical contract documents
  • conduct annual performance reviews of department personnel
  • make recommendations to the executive committee regarding compensation of
    department personnel
  • make recommendations to executive committee regarding hiring, promotions, discipline and termination of department personnel
  • calculate department labor hours and recommend electrical discipline fees to the
    executive committee
  • allocate labor hours to department personnel project-by-project
  • manage the profitability of the electrical department
  • participate in project interviews when required
  • effectively communicate with past, current and potential clients
  • actively promote the business development and excellence of the electrical discipline

 

Mechanical Engineer / Department Supervisor

Architecture and Engineering firm seeks a degreed P.E. with a minimum 20 years of experience in design of fire protection, plumbing, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems for educational, healthcare and/or commercial buildings. LEED accreditation is desired. Candidate must be able to:

  • act as the mechanical engineer on various on-going projects
  • supervise and mentor the other engineers and drafters within the mechanical department
  • manage the day-to-day workload of the mechanical department

Structural Engineer

Architecture and Engineering firm seeks a degreed P.E., S.E. with a minimum 10 years of licensed practice and experienced in the design of steel, concrete, masonry and wood frame buildings. Candidate must possess the ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision, capable of prioritization of work and handling multiple assignments simultaneously. Experience working with Revit software is required. LEED accreditation is desirable. Candidate must be able to effectively communicate with clients and function at a high level within a design team environment. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

 

Electrical Drafter

Architecture and Engineering firm seeks degreed candidates in electrical engineering for building systems. Candidate shall be proficient in the application of Revit software and carry a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA. Some experience is desired but not required, as training will accompany employment. LEED accreditation is highly desirable. Must be able to effectively communicate and function at a high level within a design team environment. Hourly wage commensurate with experience and education.
